After graduating from Purchase College with a BA in Painting and Drawing, my partner and I set off for Argentina to explore and volunteer. In Buenos Aires I met a young artisan who taught me traditional macrame techniques, an art form I fell in love with and explored deeply. We then returned to the States and moved form the East Coast to Portland OR where I began a small jewelry business that grew to at one time employing seven crafters creating thousands of pieces for various stores across the country, including Anthropologie. My designs have evolved to include cast metal, beadwork and more. To purchase please visit: www.amirajewelry.com
